Formula D at PBIR!! – UPDATED**

June 5, 2011  |  by Dipz  |  Automotive Events  |  No Comments

Yes, it finally happened! Here at Versiontwo Laboratory, we previously discussed and have been following the progress of the three major national drifting events effecting our local drivers. We had, last month, Formula Drift (FD / Formula D) in Atlanta, GA. Immediately following the same, Xtreme Drift Circuit (XDC) rocked the foundations of central Florida with a drifting show they had never seen before. Now, on this date, history was made when Formula D made its premier debut to its first Florida venue: Palm Beach International Raceway (PBIR)! We were excited to travel to South Florida to experience firsthand the remarkable finish by Team Falken Tire, in which drivers Pawluck, Gittin Jr., and D-Mac respectively nabbed the top three positions. During the periodical breaks, fans were given the opportunity to mingle with their favorite International driving heroes while also watching in wonder as new local stars were being born through the Pro-AM series program.

Be sure to check out the Gallery of where we’ve been! (click)

What was your favorite thing about Formula D at PBIR? Let us know!

Moscow Drift

March 8, 2011  |  by ravi  |  Videos  |  No Comments

Sometimes you just have to go street drifting.. other times you have to make your own fast and the furious movie…? I think these guys successfully did a little of both. Very cool concept and great cinematography.

Gymkhana 2.1

September 5, 2009  |  by ravi  |  Videos  |  No Comments

Not quite as technical as the last two Gymkhana Videos but definitely just as entertaining. Dyrdek vs. Block, I am personally suprised Rob didn’t get killed during the filming of this video. Anyhow I can’t wait to see the next one.

Rhys Millen : Pikes Peak (Record Breaking)

July 29, 2009  |  by ravi  |  Videos  |  No Comments

Rhys Millen is known for winning a ton of drift events (in GM cars (gto, solstice, etc)), I personally never knew he did rally racing, but wow. Watching this video is like watching Forza or GT4 on replay mode…. Ridiculous driving ability; and the car sounds amazing – Go Hyundai (Genesis Coupe).

The first video is a trailer style edit and the second video is the entire run.

D1 Grand Prix – Gulfstream Park, FL

May 30, 2009  |  by ravi  |  Automotive Events  |  No Comments

D1 Grand Prix made an appearance in the south – First time the series ever passed through Florida. It was a crazy experience from the blazing hot sun to thundering and lighting storms. The drivers didn’t take a break and continued to drive through it all, with a few mistakes and accidents caused by the slippery ground the show went on and everything stayed on schedule. The end of the event turned into a Japanese drivers show-down and Crowd favorite Ken Nomura (white r34) placed second, having some trouble following Diago Saito in his Toyota chaser in the final round. All in all – We just hope next year they’ll give us media guys a tent to stand under and I think the Central Florida Road Course would be a great place for another event.

1st Place – Daigo Saito
2nd Place – Ken Nomura
3rd Place – Harry Hokkanen

I have about 700 posted below – Also check out the flickr section on the left for a few edits. click here to view the full gallery

Special thanks to Matt D. over at D1GP.
