So, with our ear to the ground, it seems that word on the streets is that there’s an ODB film on the way. As a matter of fact, make that 2! Wu-Tang member RZA, who’s currently out promoting his latest film The Man With The Iron Fists, has planned 2 upcoming films based on the late rappers life. The first film, entitled Dirt: One Word Can Change The World, follows the Ol’ Dirty Bastard from his younger years in his early childhood up until his beginnings with the Wu.

The second film, Dirty White Boy, take a look at the later years of the rappers life, as seen through the eyes of his manager, Jarred Weisfeld. In an interview with The Playlist, RZA said “As far as ‘Dirt,’ that actually starts back when we was young,” RZA reflected. “Me and [ODB] ran through this city, man, cutting school, stealin’ pretzels from the hot dog stand, being vagabonds, sleeping on the trains, drinking ’40s on the back of the A Train, rapping, getting chased by the police. It’s a coming of age story that me and him and a few of our cousins went through, Then it goes on into finally becoming Wu-Tang, going through that hell. And then it takes on his side of it, not my side.” The role of ODB is to be played by Michael Kenneth Williams, who is known for his role as Omar on HBO’s “The Wire.” You can most likely expect the RZA himself to work on a majority of the musical score for these films, as well as some good ol’ classic Wu-Tang hits throughout. Really looking forward to hearing more about the project. Check back, and we’ll keep you updated.
