Another year means another Tokyo Auto Salon! There was something for everyone, from domestic Japanese tuner vehicles, to European exotics, and even a bit of American muscle.

Just one of many, and they’re still so unique!
Tokyo Auto Salon 2013 was clearly about one thing; the new Toyota 86 (Scion FR-S) and the Subaru BRZ. All the big tuning companies were showcasing new products for it.
Most had merely aero kits and mild power-adders, but some were running Greddy/Trust turbo kits, HKS centrifugal superchargers, and even a Bullet Sprintex roots type blower. There were swapped 86s as well; URAS had their 2JZ 86 and TOM’s stuffed a 2GR V6 into one. It was definitely a sensory “HachiRoku” overload.
Expect to see a lot of these products out in the wild in the coming months. It seems everyone is banking on the 86 this year. I wonder what innovations made in 2013 will be debuting at Tokyo Auto Salon next January? Until next time, Sayonara!
